![]() #WESTERN GOLF CART SERIAL NUMBER LOOKUP SERIAL NUMBERS#Yamaha has changed the location of their serial numbers more than any other golf car manufacturer. The letters may vary but with either arrangement, the first two numbers are the year of manufacture. The serial number code is arranged as follows: A84XX – XXXXX or, AG89 – XXXXX. One is a brake, the other, an accelerator. ![]() These carts can be distinguished from their older 1975 thru 1980 cousins, having only two foot pedal controls. The serial number tag is located…on the dash board just below the right side glove box, and above the floor mat. In the example above, it would have been manufactured in 1978.ġ982 - 2000.5 "DS"- Silver metal top supports, two separate back rests.Ģ000.5+ "DS" - Black top supports, one piece backrest. The next two numbers are the year of manufacture. In this sequence, the A designates it as an electric model, which is the only model they made (No gas powered carts in those years). The serial number code is arranged as follows: A78XX – XXXXX. One is a regular brake, the other, a parking brake, and the third pedal, the accelerator. If there serial number tag happens to be missing, you can identify these carts by the fact that they have three foot pedal controls. The serial number tag is located… under the seat on the driver’s side of the car, on the aluminum I-beam frame rail, next to the two batteries. There, you will notice a plastic tag glued on to the cross member of the frame.* The serial number tag is located…behind the seat by flipping up the black plactic access panel. The serial number tag is located…on the passenger side of the vehicle, in the glove box, on the left side. The longer grouping of numbers (no letters) is your serial number, which you will not need in order to know the year of your golf cart. ![]() The last two numbers in the letter/number group is the year of manufacture.
